DescriptionPlants have developed systems of perception, processing and response to signals from the surrounding environment. Our research group studies how and why plants behave the way they do. The focus at the moment is on Plant Acoustics, sounds that could be advantageous for plants to hear, how plants respond to them, and even how and why plants are able to produce them. Furthermore, since it is known that a complete immersion in a wood or a forest guarantees to receive benefits from the forest atmosphere, this pratice, by bike or by walking -which derives from the Japanese Shinrin-yoku-, is another topic of our research. Last one is related to microalgae growth in a virtuous circle from agro-industrial waste as input to biodiesel or other high value products as output.
