Description | The main research interest in our lab is the investigation of metal-containing, electron transfer (ET) proteins and enzymes involved in deseases. The aim is twofold: from a fundamental point of view, we are interested in unveiling how the protein structure, dynamics and environmental conditions affect the ET and the catalytic functionality. In parallel, our investigation is devoted to the design of bio(in)organic interfaces, based on the adsorption of metalloproteins on metal electrodes, for biosensing and biocatalysis. This approach makes the application of electrochemical methods also a very attractive strategy for the construction of reagent-less platforms for high-throughput screening of new drug candidates for cancer therapies. |
