Internships and Stages - General Information

Contenuto

The Internship/Stage Office of the Department of Life Sciences promotes and manages the offer of educational and orientation internships (so-called stages) in Italy and abroad, leveraging a consolidated network of contacts with public and private companies, national and international organizations, public entities, and trade associations.

Purpose of the Internship
The educational and orientation internship (so-called Stage) represents an initial approach to the job market, allowing the intern to embark on a highly qualifying work training path, assisted by a company tutor.

Characteristics
The stage does not constitute an employment relationship, although it assimilates some of its characteristics. The duration of the internship is variable, although the regulations set a limit of 6 months (24 months for disabled individuals).

The activation of all types of internships carried out at a company or an external entity to Unimore is done through the signing of:

  • An agreement between the University (so-called Promoting Entity) and the company/entity (so-called Host Entity), containing summary indications about the relationship between the entities;
  • A training project, which specifies the main elements of each activated internship, such as: the intern's personal data; the objectives and content of the internship; the insurance coverage provided by the University as the promoting entity; the duration and the period of execution.

Support Services
The Department's Internship/Stage Office also offers support activities to companies that are looking for interns or want to post job advertisements aimed at graduates in biological, pharmaceutical, and agricultural disciplines, and prepares, on behalf of the parties, all the necessary documentation for activation.
