The DSV encourages the creation of spin-off companies as a means of enhancing research and promoting the development and dissemination of new technologies, products, and innovative services. To this end, the Department highlights funding opportunities to support and/or foster academic entrepreneurship, utilizing a specially created portfolio of skills. Spin-offs may involve university personnel or be initiated by students (junior spin-offs).
