The Quality Manager coordinates the Department Quality Committee composed of: Francesca Fanelli (Biotechnology area), Nicola Franchi (Biology area) and Davide Tagliazucchi (Agricultural area).

The Quality Commission appointed by the Department Director. It carries out on behalf of the Department the functions of the Quality Presidium and assists the Director and the Department Council, with investigative, coordinating, and operational functions in the field of self-evaluation, assessment, and accreditation of the scientific, teaching and management structures of the Department. Members of the Quality Commission are appointed by the Department Council upon the proposal of the Director.

The RQD ensures liaison between the University Quality Presidium and peripheral structures (Department, Degree Courses, Joint Teaching Staff-Student Committee). It also provides support and advice in teaching, assisting the Degree Courses Dean and Review Groups, as well as research and third mission.

The RQD, assisted by the Quality Commission, has the following tasks:

• provide advice and support to the Department Directors for the drafting of the Departmental Three-Year Plan and for the drafting of the Annual Monitoring and Review Report.
• Monitor the proper conduct of activities included in Departmental Three-Year Plans and Departmental Research and Third Mission Review activities.
• Monitor the teaching activities of Degree Courses, providing advice and support for the drafting of formal documentations.
• Provide advice and support to Joint Teaching Staff-Student Committee in drafting the annual report.
• Support the University Quality Presidium in the dissemination of information on QA to departmental staff.
